…WSA designed a house we all love so much that functions well for five very distinct personalities – and our hundred pound dog!…

Larry Jacob & Stephanie Guerin

“We had a unique situation.  We had just given birth to our son, and our in-laws decided they would move to Kansas City from Boston.  We decided to move from a historic neighborhood in downtown Kansas City to Lake Lotawana – for the lifestyle.  We decided to build a home that would enable us to work and play all as a three generational family under one roof.  WSA designed a house we all love so much that functions well for five very distinct personalities – and our hundred pound dog!  Their ability to capture the vision of all of us and also take into consideration the environment for which we were building could not have been matched.  We will never have to build again, but if we ever did, we would go back to WSA in a heartbeat.  P.S. We love that cars and boats going by still stop and stare!”

…We would highly recommend Bruce and his staff and we have been blessed to have worked with them.

Brad Brown

“My wife and I have had the pleasure of working with Bruce since 1996 when he designed our first home. Bruce instantly became apart of our family as he made us feel comfortable by asking many questions and understanding our needs and wants. Our home is beautiful and was recognized by winning an award in the KC Homes Magazine. We most recently had Bruce design our Cabana, Media Room addition, Swimming Pool, Hot Tub, and Fire Pit. It is all Fantastic! If anyone would like to visit our home please contact Bruce for a tour. We would highly recommend Bruce and his Staff and we have been blessed to have worked with them. ”

…I believe the most important part of a remodel or addition is the architect…

Marci Knoff

“We hired Bruce to design an addition to our 1950’s ranch in Leawood. He did an amazing job creating an open plan that works for our family while maintaining the style and integrity of our old neighborhood. He has designed some amazing projects for my clients as well. Most people worry about the contractor, but I believe the most important part of a remodel or addition is the architect.”

…He takes the time to truly understand how you live in your home and then he designs the perfect plans.

Roxie Jerde

Bruce is a real talent! He takes the time to truly understand how you live in your home and then he designs the perfect plans. We have hired him for 3 remodels and he exceeded our expectations each time.

…Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Wendlandt & Stallbaumer  for projects ranging from remodels to new constructions where quality design, scale, accuracy, and detail matters…

Sal Monteleone
Owner, SMC Custom Homes

Over the years, I have had experience with many architectural firms in the Kansas City area, and Wendlandt & Stallbaumer is among the best I have worked with.  When evaluating a firm, I, much like a homeowner, give considerable weight to the firm’s design ability.

Of equal or greater value, however, is a firm’s technical ability to actually produce build-able schematics of their designs–it’s one thing to sketch elevations and floor plans, it’s another thing to produce drawings that allow a design to become an accurate replication of a homeowner’s expectation.  Unfortunately, this is a consideration that is often not recognized or is under-appreciated by most homeowners when selecting an architect or architectural firm, resulting in many disappointments when final outcomes fail to meet initial expectations.

I can say unequivocally that Wendlandt & Stallbaumer’s technical delivery and persistently detailed schematics, combined with artisan quality designs, have aided me greatly in producing some spectacular outcomes for all the projects on which we have collaborated.  Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Wendlandt & Stallbaumer  for projects ranging from remodels to new constructions where quality design, scale, accuracy, and detail matters.

Ron and Bruce are both extremely talented and efficient in whatever they endeavor.  Not only are they talented but they possess a rare gift of “listening” to their clients needs and guiding them to the finish line with great aesthetics and function. They have designed several projects for us and the end results have all been award winning.

…when it came time for our project we retained Bruce Wendlandt and never looked back…

David A. Welte
Executive Vice President & General Counsel
Stowers Resource Management

We always knew we would add a hearth room at some point and that the quality of the architect would be very important. With that in mind, over the years we observed the construction of additions around town with a particular focus on how well the addition matched and complimented the original structure. We quickly learned that Wendlandt & Stallbaumer was the name we regularly encountered for those projects that most appealed to us. So, when it came time for our project we retained Bruce Wendlandt and never looked back. Our goal was fairly simple to articulate but difficult to implement. We wanted a kitchen, hearth room, etc. that on the outside appeared as though it had been constructed in 1927 with the rest of the house, and on the inside, integrated well with the original house. Bruce achieved our goals effortlessly and at a very reasonable cost. In fact, we now spend 90% of our waking moments in those two rooms!

…Working with Bruce and his staff was nothing but delightful and their congeniality made our project a memorable experience…

Robert and Rogene Conn

Several years ago we purchased a house in the “Cloisters” that was to be our ultimate retirement home. It reflected the architecture of the period of its construction (1970’s). As we considered our plans for remodeling we were fortunate to meet Bruce Wendlandt and to daydream with him regarding the feeling we wished to create. This appeared to be a formidible task since the basic design had limitations. The kitchen presented a conceptual challenge, but after much discussion and considerable innovation Bruce presented a restructured design that answered all of our wishes. In fact the finished product was impressive enough to win an award as the kitchen remodel of the year. Bruces suggestions regarding moldings, lighting and walnut paneling throughout the house captured all of the feeling and atmosphere that we had presented to him. Thirteen years later we continue to marvel at the utter satisfaction we experience each time we return to our home, and how Bruce was able to conceptualize our thoughts and capture the essence of our dreams. Working with Bruce and his staff was nothing but delightful and their congeniality made our project a memorable experience.
